Major De Beaujolais,

OFFICER COMMANDING,

l‘eFFLUENT RIVER STATION.

SIR,

I regret the need to write to you so soon after penning my last letter but I must protest most strongly against recent happenings at  kaiserville which are clearly the work of natives from your territories.   I realise that the French are inept at enforcing any real discipline but I would suggest that at least some kind of control should be in place.

Late last week one of my store rooms was broken into after the askari on watch was butchered.  A decent fellow with six wives and twenty children to support no less !.   Anyway the criminals got away with over 50 pairs of hobnail boots destined to equip my own fellows who must now continue to shuffle around

barefoot.   My good Fukarwi are adamant That this is the work of those awful lobotomi tribesmen from your area.  as the lobotomi have narrower feet than most natives and can fit nicely into the sizes we lost,  mainly 10-12‘s,  this fits the boot nicely you might say.

of course you must be aware that unlike my peaceful fukarwi the lobotomi are dreaded slavers, freebooters, (With free boots !) and gunrunners.  Now equipped with the best prussian boots they can wander even further afield reeking their mayhem.   as the good bugga-al fears for the lesser tribes in the area my men have been out and about offering them free refuge under German protection.   Of course many are reluctant to leave their villages but it is only for their own good and we have been quite firm in ensuring their compliance and safety.

I fear however our excellent intentions will be misinterpreted or worse still we will be blamed for the outrageous acts of the lobotmi.   as such I have written to the commissioner general at krugerand and to the British at bulawayo to protest that your inefficiency is going to rip the land asunder with rampant slavery unless it is not nipped in the bud.  as such I have ordered my patrols to take resolute action against the lobotomi wherever they may be found.

                   RESPECTFULLY

                cOLONEL vON sTROMP

         gOVERNOR GENERAL (sELF PROCLAIMED)
